Sweet Tiffany needs an adopter or fosterer-- quickly!

I run a TNR group in Mt. Olive, NJ (Northwest NJ). Our vet office called us and said a very sweet 10 year old cat was abandoned at their office, and they found a rescue to take her but the rescue asked for bloodwork and then reneged when Tiffany tested as diabetic. The vet office said they would keep her until this Saturday and then euthanize her if they cannot find a placement. We got them to give us a few more days to try to find somewhere for her. We have a small foster network but are overfull. Can anyone in the area (speaking broadly) either adopt this cat or foster her for us temporarily while we try to find a permanent home? It is very difficult to find a fosterer willing to give insulin shots.

If you can help, PLEASE email mtolivetnr@gmail.com. I will also try to follow check this board regularly.

Thanks,
Michelle for Tiffany

She might be a diet controlled diabetic if the vet stops feeding any dry and feeds low carb over the counter canned food, such as Friskies pates (except mixed grill which is more than 10% calories from carbohydrate). The Rx dry foods are too high in unnecessary carbohydrate.

Thank you. Not sure we can get the vet, at the vet's office, to change their medical approach to managing her condition but will ask.

It would be an experiment for him, to be sure.

Such a little sweetheart, some people are so heartless :(
I'm way out in western Canada, so can't help other than to hope & pray that Sweet Tiffany finds a good home soon.

I wish I lived closer to rescue Tiffany. Perhaps another vet or a rescue society such as ASPCA would be willing to take her in. Diabetes is not the end of the world and is very treatable with diet and insulin. And with a change in diet, Tiffany may go into remission. Tiffany is still so young and still has many lives left.
