10 years and 4 months of all of that extra sweet love, and daily hugs and kisses. My heart is still shattered. I was blessed to have my big, beautiful orange boy for over a decade since his diagnosis, and I told him every day how thankful I was. He wouldn't have survived the first year without all of the extremely intelligent, caring angels on this board. I am forever thankful for all of you!

The week he passed, his best friend Lucky (they groomed each other before every meal) started treatment for hyperthyroidism. He has been getting the cream rubbed on his ears twice daily. Lucky is a very laid back Tuxedo boy, but he clearly doesn't like the cream. So he is scheduled to go to Cornell Vet Hospital on Monday for the Radio-iodine treatment, which is the "gold standard" of treatment for hyperthyroidism. I am so worried about him because he has never been away from home overnight. And he is very shy and has been attached to me since Sweet Max passed. And the cost of $1200-$1500 is worrying me because I have spent that over the past 4 weeks for vet bills, car repairs, and house repairs.

Lucky and I will appreciate prayers that this will be a successful venture all around.

Forever Grateful to all of you,

Cat, my Angel Sweet Max, and the gang

(((((Cat))))) I am so sorry to hear of Sweet Max's passing. May you forever feel that sweet boy's fur against your face. wings_cat

All my best for a successful I131 treatment for Lucky. I seldom hear anything but success stories, so chances are he will do really well. And hopefully he won't have high renal values when it's done. I am sure Cornell will make him feel very welcome and loved.

This procedure can cause high renal values? I wish everyone could be healthy for awhile. But Kee Kee still struggles with his Megacolon issues. Sigh....

Am so sorry to hear Sweet Max passed. I know he was the love of your life.

The iodine treatment doesn't cause high renal values, but hyperthyroidism can mask kidney disease. So, if you resolve the hyper-T, the kidneys suddenly appear much worse.
