Supplements in pill pockets vs. food?

Good morning, all.

I am wondering about the viability of putting supplements in pill pockets vs wet food. The texture of food Chloe has decided she likes is not easy to mix - there a clumps that she ends up avoiding. But she’ll eat whatever I put in a pill pocket.

Would that be too concentrated of a delivery method? The supplements I have are a probiotic, methyl B12, and egg yolk powder for hairballs (less worried about that last one).

I'm curious about this as well. I have a devil of a time getting Magic to swallow the Zombalin tablet. Just when I think it's down he spits it across the carpet.

It’s fine to give the supplements in a pocket vs mixed in her food. Most of them are actually meant to be given like that, that’s why a lot of them come in a capsule or pill. Most people end up sprinkling them in their cats food instead because it’s easier to get the cat to take it that way. The only potential issue I see is that I’m pretty sure most of the pill pockets except for maybe one are high carb, but I can’t remember which one was considered to be ok carb wise

If it's a powdery cocktail I only give a couple of days a week, I am less worried about the carb content of a single pill pocket. As it stands, she usually gets MC gravy on top of her LC food at least twice a week just to entire her to eat it.

Yes absolutely, sometimes the benefits outweigh the costs :cat: Just wanted to be sure to mention it in case it affected her BG numbers in any way
