Hi everyone, despite Sumo's Vets recommendation of switching him to Lantus, I have decided to keep him on Pro Zinc (at least for now) He has an appt to have his teeth cleaned one week from tomorrow and I don't want to manage the possibility of him not eating and a new insulin that I am not that familiar with. In a wierd way, I am hoping that she will find a bad tooth or something that might explain his new high numbers. It is my understanding that Siamese are genetically prone to tooth resorption, aka FORLs. (Feline odontoclastic resorptive lesion) She said she could better examine his teeth while he was under anesthesia, and would remove any teeth that showed signs of this. Sumo has had a few 400's BG's on PMPS 10/31 and 11/1 and also both todays AMPS and PMPS. I am following Robin's sliding scale, but it stops at 400. I was tempted to bump his Pro Zinc to .9 but held steady at the .8 and will try to get some +'s tonight. Next curve time available will be Saturday, which I plan to do. If his sugar is high tomorrow AMPS, over 400, would you suggest to increase to .9 or just hang with the .8 and do the curve on Sat?
Thanks alot, Mary
