Sugar kitty in a free feeding house

I just graduated and comet and I moved back home for a bit. We have 4 other cats and they all free feed merrick limited ingredient dry food. It isn’t feasible financially or logistically to switch all the cats to wet food or to do timed feeds with the others but comet has already tried to eat the dry food after 5 minutes of being back. What are my options here? He hasn’t eaten anything today so will he stop trying to eat dry food once he gets back in routine after traveling? Do I need to keep him separated from everyone?

With 4 other cats, feeding Comet her diet is a problem. I only have one other cat and, since I allow them to graze, I changed the diet for both cats.Rhey both enjoy raw meat and thdyre getting used to Fancy Feast wet food.

I sympathise, but I don't know what to suggest.

Does anyone else live with you? If so, how prepared are they to co-operate with keeping Comet on her correct diet?

My mom will be caring for him while I am gone because I’m leaving him for a bit but no one is home during the day to keep him from eating dry food but I will separate him for his feeds

What I did was change everyone to a diabetic appropriate diet, and I usually give them breakfast, leave some food out, and some food in a time feeder programed to open around lunch and then I get and give dinner in the afternoon and I leave some food out before going to bed for them to graze during the night
