Hi all,
Any advise received warmly welcome. I live in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus which is an unrecognised country to the world except Turkey. My beloved Pushkins was diagnosed a month ago and as yet it is not under control. Our vets has put him on Hills WD dry food but reading I have heard this is not a good product to feed him as high in Carbs even though supposed to be a vet diet!!! I did managed to source it from South Cyprus as so many brands are not available here. Starting changing him to wet food in Jelly mainly Felix as can't get much else. Also we have no choice but to use human insulin as that is all that is available and it's that's or nothing. I'm trying to source a good glucose monitor from the uk one that uses only a small amount of blood and will feed onto strip from any angle, as I'm not home in Uk can anyone help me choose so I can get it sent out.
Thank you in adavance

Hi, Anita. Welcome. My vet put Zazu on Hills MD, similar to WD and he got addicted to it. He didn't even wanted his treats anymore. He is back on wet high protein food and doing well. Wet food is definately the way to go, just check the carb content, as some wet foods also have high carb and some sugar content.

Hi Mari,
Thank you so much for your reply. Do you know what would be considered a low carb/sugar amount. There is very little choice here so I would like to get the best possible.
Do you check Zazu's glucose at home? If yes any recommendations on monitors/meters
Zazu looks beautiful

Hi Anita and welcome. Felix in jelly is fine, it's what my lot get, but the Senior version.
