Stress elevated BG from amateur testing?

Hi, all. I am new to this forum and new to home testing.

It has taken me some time to get enough blood from my cat’s ears to get a viable sample. This unfortunately means I end up pricking Chloe a few times before the drop is large enough to register on my testing strips.

I was doing my own mini-curve ahead of a scheduled vet one, and she’s had some pretty high numbers today. The lowest number corresponds with the time I had to prick her ears the fewest (2), but also 8 hours after her shot this morning. I am wondering if the stress of multiple pricks could contribute to increased BG? I can’t imagine it would be more stressful than an entire day at the vet, but I don’t know.

Thank you.

Not really unless your cat is really fighting with you.

You're right....there's hardly anything you can do at home that's more stressful to a cat than spending the day in a cage with strangers around all day. Home testing, even if it's more stressful for you is a lot better for the cat.
