Stress at the vet during nadir, will it make him lower or higher?

Our vet appointment for tomorrow is going to fall right around his nadir...we've never had a vet visit while on insulin before...

When my blood sugar is already low and/or dropping... activity/stress makes me drop even lower...

He hasn't been going too low at nadir but I'm wondering if the stress of the car ride and barking dogs and being poked might stress him out enough to bring him too low?

I don't want the vet to respond with... I dunno... what do vets do when they're very low?

I mean I feel like they don't keep honey or gravy food around...lol

I am thinking of bringing honey with us just in case lol

Most cats react to vet stress by going higher, but every once in awhile you'll find one that goes lower with stress.

If he's "too low", they have glucose IV's they can give to bring him up quickly

The timing of the vet visit barely matters. I had a cat that leaped into the car and pranced around the vet's office showing off his tiny butt. He had textbook curves at home but at the vet it looked like a child had been scribbling on the walls with a crayon.
Never count on even the best vet for anything from strips to a HYPO kit. Remember that even hospitals advise you to bring your own medication.
Are you doing curves at home yet?
