Strange symptom when drinking-have you seen this?

Hi all,
Would appreciate if anyone has seen this or knows anything about this. Squamee stands over her water and sort of cautiously bats at it with her paw before drinking. It does not look playful. I have wondered if she could be having trouble seeing. Any ideas? Thanks!

Mine do that all the time. It may be to help see - motion is easier for cats to detect.

The motion does help -- have you ever seen a kitty dip in a bowl for a drink and get a noseful of water?

I use fountains for my kitties --then they don't need to stick a paw in - which keeps it cleaner.

I've seen mine paw in front of the bowl like they do in the litter box as if she is trying to clean up a mess. This was strange to see too.
