I have posted this on the yahoo stomatitis list but have gotten no response, so I am hoping someone has some insights here.
We are considering putting Yoda on a course of cyclosporine in an effort to help him eat until Dr. Wigg's stomatitis cocktail comes out. I know it does not treat the underlying cause of the inflammation and only helps to suppress the immune system. He currently gets a homemade raw diet (recipe from www.catinfo.org). Will it be safe to put him on this drug while eating raw food? He cannot have steroid
treatments because of his diabetes.
I have also read that cats should be tested for toxoplasmosis before undergoing cyclosporine treatments and have blood work done to monitor the levels in the blood. What is everyone's experience with this?
