Stomach inflammation & diabetes issues?

Hi all, my cat seems to be having issues with her blood sugar. I noticed on Friday afternoon she started eating lots so did a BG reading, which was 2.7. I gave her some glucogel & she continued to eat her food for c. 15 mins. I took her BG an hour later & it had gone up to 7.0 & gradually increased. I started doing a curve on Saturday and noticed her BG was 6.5 two hours after I’d given her morning shot. I made an emergency vets appt, as I was worried it would decrease even more, & took another reading while in the consulting room with the vet. At 3 & half hours after her morning shot, her BG was 8.5. The vet said he wasn’t sure what was going on with her but that he’d email my usual vet (which he did there & then) & to phone on Tues when she’s back in. He also said to keep her on her usual dose, which is 1.0iu & to keep an eye on her.

I’m just wondering, as I’ve done a bit of research on stomach inflammation, which she does have & is on medication for, if this would have an impact on her insulin/BG levels. Does anyone know? I’m just worried about her, especially at night.

Thanks everyone.

P.s. she’s thrown up undigested food three times in the last two weeks, only a tiny bit luckily, but it’s one of the signs of stomach inflammation & the vet said it can still happen even on her meds. I am going to mention it to the vet on Tues.

New advances in pain-free testing for diabetics: Medicare and insurance will pay for diabetic supplies and the new painless glucose monitor for alternative site testing. This will help diabetics avoid the long-term complications of glucose monitoring system.
