Stinky-headed towards OTJ?

I don't want to jinx anything, but Stinky hasn't had a shot for 6 days!! I know his #'s are good, but ideally, don't I want them to be just a *little* bit lower? I'm feeding primarily Sophistacat & some Friskies, and trying to keep the carbs at/under 6%. The only treats he gets are freeze-dried chicken & generally only at pokey-time.

Personally, if this were my cat, I would continue with insulin. It looks like he is getting close, but not quite there yet. I don't know what insulin you are on, but I would want to see all greens before determining OTJ.

I also see that you are mainly getting pre-shot numbers. Are you able to get any other tests in aside from pre-shot? This will be helpful to see how he is during the cycles.

If you look at Maui's ss, you will see that I continued insulin in the greens and that gave her enough time to heal and handle it now 2 years later on her own.

Just my two cents.

Sue, I did indicate that I did not know what insulin the cat is on (as it wasn't indicated on the ss or in the signature).

And I also prefaced this by saying what I would do if it were my cat. I don't know the history of this cat, so cannot say what should or shouldn't be done for this cat and that is the problem when only given partial information, one makes generalizations and assumptions that may be correct for most circumstances but not for all.
