Hi Julie, I can view the spreadsheet so you did it correctly. I read the most recent comments in the spreadsheet and noted that you are continuing to feed Max dry food. But we don't know what kind, is this one of the lower carbohydrate dry foods? If it's not, then a higher carb dry food is most likely contributing to those high BG numbers. I did go back and read previous posts regarding the diet and noted you have 2 other kitties to feed also, so I can understand your concerns about purchasing 3 timed feeders.
Too bad we can't have a sit down conversation with our kitties and tell them to keep to their own feeder and not pirate the others. "This will open in 3 hours and you each go to your own dish, then in 3 more hours, the other dish will open and you get to eat again". Same for leaving out 'foodcicles", it's hard to try to figure out how to make sure each kitty gets the best diet and enough for each of them. I just know from experience that eliminating the dry food from Idjit's diet made a huge difference in the BG and with a very short period of insulin therapy, enabled him to go into remission. I hope that this can be resolved somehow and you can see better BG numbers for Max, and be able to lower his insulin dose.
I just would suggest that you review previous threads to refresh your memory, and ask the advice of the experienced Prozinc members in the Prozinc forum
HERE.
Please edit your signature to indicate that you are using Prozinc and what type of dry and wet food he gets. Wet food can also be high carb and we don't know from the signature what brand/type you are feeding. It's harder to try to go back and read every post in every thread to gather information.
This is information that is helpful to have in the signature: kitty's name/age/date of diabetes diagnosis/insulin you're using and dosage amount /glucose meter you're using/what (s)he eats/any other meds or health issues (s)he has. You can add your name, and a geographic location (sometimes the time zone matters) Be sure to SAVE when you are finished.
Very best wishes as you go forward with Max's diabetic treatment.
