Hey everyone!
Here's an update. We figured out that he needs about 1/2 cup of dry food to get his total calories per day.
Hubby is giving him 1/8 of a cup of dry food about an hour before insulin in the morning and in the night. And then since I am home during the summer I am feeding him various wet foods to see what he likes. I feel more comfortable knowing he is getting at least 1/2 his daily calories because we are trying to prevent DKA.
So far today we tried Wellness Turkey (he liked it!) and Sheba Chicken with Gravy (he liked it!)
Today his opinion on Weruva Steak Frites is *not so good*.
And today he didn't think much of Dave's Kidney food.
Currently his BG was 129. I gave him his nighttime allotment of dry food (Purina NF) and will measure his BG in an hour.
Hubby and I think that this is a good compromise --->>> Above 300, give 3 units. Between 200-300, give 2 units, and below 200 dont shoot. What do y'all think?
We also think he might be bouncing from a few days ago. How do y'all help a kitty get over a bounce?
