Well hopefully I got the spreadsheet right. Just started to take BG on Sat going back to vet on wed for her to check and going to take my meter so we can compare to make sure we are close in range. Looks like she will prob up units since BG levels are still high. I dont feel comfortable giving more without talking with vet yet.

Just want to let you know your spreadsheet looks to be working correctly. I hope you can your kitty into safe levels soon.

One small change on your SS if you would please. It's the pre-shot test number that should go in the AMPS (morning pre-shot test) and PMPS (evening pre-shot test) columns, not the time you did those tests. If you want to add a couple more columns, so you have the times for those pre-shot tests, then you could insert a new row before the AMPS and one before the PMPS.

Hope the weather is good on Wednesday for your vet visit.

Thanks for the info I will change it. the weather should be fine just some rain Thanks for all you guys do with this site it makes me feel like Im not alone in this.

The change to the SS looks good! Thank you for doing that.

Humulin can drop the numbers really quickly, so it's definitely harder to get a good dose that will not send your kitty Sarah into hypo territory. It does look to me like you could go up a bit in dose, up to 1.25 at least, maybe up to 1.5.

One step that can help with the BG numbers with Humulin, is not to feed after the insulin starts to wear off. So no food after +5 or so can be helpful. That's because, once there is not enough insulin left, the food will simply raise the numbers even quicker.

I do see by your SS, that you are currently only feeding twice a day. Would it be possible for you to split those meals up into smaller portions, 2 for the AM, 2 for the PM? Feed portion 1 the 30-60 minutes needed before the shot, and then the next meal an hour or so after the shot?

That way, we are trying to have insulin available when she has eaten, but also not put too much of a strain on her body all at once with feeding her the food all at the same time. Spreading the feedings out a bit instead, can moderate the steep curve.

So u r saying feed her in the morning and then around 2 then dinner time 6 and then again around 11pm is that right

I leave for work around 8 30 and then come home around 2 to ck on her and then I get home at 6 I usually test at 7am feed then give shot at 8

I'm saying to feed her after your test in the morning, but do not feed her more than 5 hours after her shot. No food from about +5 until time for the next PM pre-shot test.

Feed her again in the evening after you test her, but not more than 5 hours after her shot. Again, no food from about +5 until it's time for your next AM pre-shot test.

A second small meal 30 minutes to 1 hour after the shot would be ok. Or 2 hours after the shot or 3 hours after the shot or 4 hours after the shot. Once you get much later than that, giving her more food will raise her numbers even quicker, because the Humulin insulin has been used up and can not help to bring her BG levels down anymore. So not giving her food between 6 and 11 hours after the shot could help to keep her BG levels lower later in the cycle.

Since we all live in different time zones, we use a plus hour format, so we are all talking the same numbers of elapsed hours. The hours are elapsed time since the last shot of insulin. So putting your times into our + hour format here are some examples.

AM test is at +11 (Your 7 am. put in +11 column for previous day, PM cycle on the spreadsheet.)
AM Shot is at 0 (your 8 am.)
+0.5 small meal
+6 would be your 2 pm. By that time, the Humulin has worn off so you don't want to feed her then.
+10 would be your 6 pm arrive home. Still a bit early for food.
+11 would be your 7 pm Ok to give her the evening meal. She needs to eat early before she gets her shot.
PM shot is at 0 (your 8 pm)
+1 (9pm) or +2 (10 pm) before you go to bed. You could give her another small meal.

You know your schedule best, so adjust this as needed.
