I'm considering trying the 3Xs daily with Prozinc as it powers at about +8 Milo needs more insulin. I posted last night and got the step by step directions and am considering trying that starting next weekend.

Keep seeing so many on Lantus. Know the price is high and people order from Canada. Is it worth switching or should we stick with the Prozinc? I want what's best for Milo.

I just don't know what to do. Stay with the Prozinc or order Lantus. My vet is very open to working with me.

I would try the TID first, then try BCP PZI next, as you have the basic concepts down for either.
Depot insulins are best dosed on 12 hour schedule plus/minus 15 min per shot or 30 min per day and no tweaking based on pre-shot.

Thanks BJM

I'm with BJ. I think sticking with ProZinc type insulins is best if you can do TID. You can always switch to Lantus later if TID and BCP PZI don't work. For now, since you know how to dose ProZinc, you won't have as steep of a learning curve. Remember, TID dosing might not have to be a forever thing. Some people do it for a bit and then the kitty is able to switch back to BID.

I edited title.
AMPS was 467. I am starting the 3Xs daily today. Is there a different SS or how should I enter other shot. Is there someone who does 3Xs daily whose SS o can look at?

Following my previous post Friday I gave 1U this AM and will monitor and give 1U 8 hours later, then 1U 8 hours later. If he is lower I know to adjust dosage lower.

Anything else I need to know or do.

The most recent person is B00kworm. (double zeros in the middle) look on past PZI pages. I think BJ has a SS form that can be used for TID. Maybe send her a PM?

TID spreadsheet is here.
Save a copy to your own Google Drive,
OR
Download to your PC as an ODS file, then upload to your own drive. That should keep it in the Google version.
Do NOT edit the file downloaded to your PC!

We did TID a while when Cass was first dx'd. If you look at my spreadsheet you'll need to go to the first tab. NEVER shoot closer than 8 hours apart, and try to get a mid-cycle (+4 or +5) so you know you're shooting into a rising number. It looks like it may work--you're getting a decent drop, but then then a skyrocket back up to really big numbers. After a while, the cycle may start getting longer--then you'll start getting crazy numbers because the insulin is overlapping. You'll need to stretch out the cycle. The key is to watch VERY carefully, and test a lot; it'll be easy to give too much insulin if you don't have a solid handle on what's going on.
