Start over on dosing?

I'm wondering if it would be safe to start over (say .25 or .50) on Ebby's dosing. I have recently been giving her 1.25 units and yesterday she bounced really bad, and was just acting so lethargic and not herself. Last night her reading was better (without as much bounce) but she is still acting dopy. I do not have data from when I started her on .25 or .50 because I was still learning/training to home test.

If I were just to go by the numbers, they would suggest to keep with the 1.25 and even possibly increase, but my gut is also telling me for whatever reason this might be too much. She is just not acting herself: different meows, really tired, droopy eyes. I don't want to backtrack, and don't want to do harm to her if I were to reduce the dose and start from the beginning, but I also don't want to keep giving her a dose that is making her feel worse.

Her next shot is in about an hour, so just contemplating what to do.

I tested ketones a couple times yesterday and again in the middle of the night and it was negative. I will try to test again next time she uses the litter box.

Good that ketones are negative. I really think she is bouncing because this dose is giving her some nice numbers midcycle. The only way to handle the bouncing is to wait until her body adapts to the lower levels and settles in. Bouncing from blues to blacks doesn't can't feel good so that could be why she feels off.

As I said on the PZI forum, you could certainly try the lower dose for a few cycles and see what kind of numbers you get, but be sure to test for ketones. Ge

My signature link Secondary Monitoring Tools has some additional assessments which may help in monitoring in addition to blood glucose testing. Perhaps those may be helpful.
