Start low go slow method quick question

I have a pet specific meter which I'm fully comfortable with and I don't want to switch to a human meter, but I read to use a human meter for the start low go slow method. How much different will the numbers be as compared to human meter? Advice on what to do? Thank you in advance. I've already written down all the instructions so it's easier for me to get to come dosing time than pulling up the forum page.

You can continue to use your pet meter. We don't have exact numbers for reference for the pet meters but there are those of us who also used pet meters who can help when and if questions arise. I have done well over 1200 same drop comparison tests so am equally comfortable with either meter type. One consideration though is the cost of the pet strips. There are human meters available in the US that are far more economical to use but it is of course your choice to use the meter you prefer.:)

I just re-read your signature on Scratches. I wonder if anyone has mentioned using methyl B12 for the neuropathy yet?
Here is some information about neuropathy treatment you might be interested in reading.

There is also another brand of the methyl B12 that a member used and recommends, please visit this thread and scroll down to post #4 for that information on Vitacost brand

You can do SLGS with your pet meter and you should just use the same values listed as for a human meter. Regardless of how many tests anyone has comparing the two meters, you cannot and should not extrapolate data. If you don’t want to switch to a human meter, then just follow the same BGs for SLGS as if you were using a human meter.

Linda...I just want to be sure you see this. It is the training I got from Jill. You can also check with Sienne and Wendy and they will tell you the same thing. We don’t need reference numbers for the pet meter. Thank you!
