After almost a week of vomiting and not eating, and 5 days of antibiotics (thanks again, DCIN!), Star finally ate a little bit of food last night. It was her old, dry food, even though the new wet food was sitting right next to her, but I figure something is better than nothing. Which means her bg rose a bit (256 this morning).
This morning the vet also said if she's eating, he's comfortable giving her an appetite stimulant. We came home and she ate a little more. Hooray.
She did throw up again a few hours after eating last night (too early to tell today), though the vet thinks perhaps the continued vomiting is in part due to the antibiotic. As soon as her temp is normal he wants to take her off the antibiotic. I asked if an infection in a cat isn't like a human, needing to stay on for longer to be sure the infection is completely gone, and he said it is, except if it's making her nauseated then he'll take the risk of taking her off asap.
Star is also acting a little more normal today -- her normal loud "talking" and letting us brush her and not hiding in the closet ALL day.
