Hi - Our 13 year old male tabby Gary has been pretty stable on Prozinc for a good number of months now, although it seems like his pancreas kicks in sometimes and we find that he is stable for short periods without any insulin at all. (He has been on just under 1 unit of Prozinc 2x daily). We are getting used to the dosage rodeo, but what is throwing me is that the litter box contains bricks big enough to lay foundations for the pyramids. This much higher volume of drinking / urinating is more recent - the last week or 2 - and I assumed his BG was skyrocketing, but the opposite is true. This morning we didn't dose him at all, because he was just about spot on in the correct range (8.6 using AlphaTrak - our vet has told us not to dose him when he's under 10). Is this condition possibly indicative of problems with his kidneys? Thanks for your input on this.
