been trying to add #'s to SS for 3 days now, but google has red lable on top left of ss,"searching for google", which wont let me add my #'s.....anyone having thi s problem?

Marci, I've been having the same problem for a couple of days. Sometimes it lets me edit, and sometimes not.
For two days, it wouldn't let me delete a copy of the spreadsheet, but finally did.
If you go into the 'help' section, you'll see that someone else asked the same question. The answer didn't make sense to me.
If you go in there, there might be more responses. When the red thingy is on, it won't let me "save and close".
It's letting me edit now, so I'd say, just keep trying.

i could put in numbers, but it didn't update colours, and the green updating msg was stuck on screen. then my computer crashed. when i logged back on, it had accepted the updated numbers and the cells were the correct colours.

Mine is still screwed up today. It let me edit numbers this morning, but now it's back to the same 'trying to locate' message, and I can't edit comments.

Edited to add:
I found this on Google Help. Many people are complaining about the same thing. Here is one answer I finally figured out how to do it and it really worked....for now anyway.

question:
While updating my spreadsheet, I keep getting "trying to reach google doc" then I can't enter info. It is happening more often and it is really inconvenient

answer:
I've had the same issue - solved by editting your URL address for your specific sheet. Open the sheet, look at the address - then change from http://..... to a secure address ' add the S ' thus add HTTPS://..... and you'll find this just works !

Barb: I couldn't figure out how to do that, so I was emailing the whole thing to my son, to explain it to me, and when I put in the URL to my SS, it came up as a clickable link Aha!......so I put the 's' in the url, while it was still in the email, then sent it to myself in order to make the link clickable.
VOILA!!.....Went to my spreadsheet directly from my email, and no more message from Google. I swear!!!
