To simply understanding: on the FD spreadsheet for human meter, world chart , the range to hope for is in the blue and green range..2.7 to 11.1 as anything over than indicates a serious problem. Ideal is 2.8 to 4.4.
I am totally confused. We have the pet meter, but kitty wont co operate and wont give up his blood from ears and we are wasting expensive strips. So going to practice and start of on the less expensive human meter. And try to use his paws pads.

Over 11 isn't a SERIOUS problem... I mean you don't want the cat in high numbers long term, but being diabetic you are often going to see numbers much higher. 20+ is common esp in the beginning.

What size lancet are you using? If you are using the device try looking freehand and don't be afraid to poke all the way through.
