Happy Saturday everyone...

I am working on setting up a spreadsheet for Oliver. In the beginning his testing was a bit sporadic as his numbers were consistently high and my vet did not deem frequent testing necessary. For my own peace of mind I now prefer to at least check his BG before every injection if not more. Unfortunately I travel a lot for my business and my cat sitter has not yet mastered testing so there are a lot of gaps and missed dates... and yes, that scares the crap out of me so we'll need to work on that pronto!

My question is this... Should I only include the dates when readings were taken? Or do I also include the skipped dates as a point of reference?

Thank you for your input,
Wendy and Oliver

Wendy,

I think the answer lies in your "for my own peace of mind" comment: include the skipped dates, particularly if Oliver received a shot. You can use the far right column to comment on why there were no tests done that day. At the same time, you'll have a record of what dose Oliver received (if he got anything) even if no testing was done. A full picture is a lot better than half the picture.

If you leave some days out, off the sheet, people will ask you to add the data.... better to put a line and post something like 'pet sitter no testing done oct3 to oct6'.
Just account for all the days, and everyone, including you, will know what was and was not done on each day. If the sitter gets any number at all, it can be recorded. Have the sitter keep a log to post some notes and times of attempts of testing. Also, notes to say how the cat is acting will be important.

Just my 2 cents....I would put those dates in so you'll know later that there were no tests. If your memory is anything like mine, you remember it now but 6 months down the road when you find a need to study them, you may NOT remember....gray hairs grow into the brain... ;-)

BIG HUG!!!
