It has been a CRAZY first few days home but I'm happy to update after switching to the 1U & complete switch in diet his 4+ today was 209 (down from 368 this morning). It's not a perfect # but it's great considering all we've been through. He's acting & eating great so I have lots of hope we will whip this before too long! Thanks to you all I think he'll have many more good years ahead. Thank you to each & every one of you who helped me get through these last few days, I greatly appreciate you all & this place! :YMHUG:

Re: Great Update on Itty Bitty..

Wonderful news! Isn't a great feeling to know how how is doing before you give the shot?

Can we help you set up a spreadsheet? It is a great color coded tool for you, your vet and for us. When you want dose advice, we can see your history at a glance.

Sign onto Google and search Templates for FDMB spreadsheet. Choose the US version. To share it, go over to File under the title (LH side) and choose Publish to the web. The URL that comes up can be put in your signature and then we will all be able to see it. It is tricky, so if you need help, just ask.

Re: Great Update on Itty Bitty..

An update was just done on the spreadsheet, to soften colors and whatnot. Here's the link to the forum area talking about it (and includes links to the spreadsheet).

Re: Great Update on Itty Bitty..

What a great thing to see! sooo happy to know that his numbers are doing better and that you are testing him!
Spreadsheets are a good thing for all to see, whenever you get to it.

Ugh well at +8 it's back up to 468  I know it's early but will this level out soon? I don't wanna feel like I'm stunting recovery or chances of remission letting it get this high. Over 300 kinda scares me. I'll get a spreadsheet together tonight & get it posted.

Give it time. IMHO, if remission is going to happen, it is going to happen. If it is not, no matter what you try, it just is not going to happen. You need to go into this with the attitude you may have to test and shoot for the rest of IB's life and if he should go OTJ, be very thankful but also know that at any time in the future he may go back to needing insulin. The main thing is having a healthy cat that is eating well, playing, purring, etc. and if he needs insulin, so be it.

Some of us have been testing and shooting for 8+ years....we don't care....we're just happy they are doing well but just happen to also be diabetic. Time will tell with IB which way he is going to go.

You have probably seen the comment " This is a marathon, not a sprint.". Be patient. You got a good mid cycle number. Think of this as data gathering. One number is not a game changer. It is just one number.

Remember to take those deep breaths.

Breathe mommabean, let happen what happens... Lets worry about getting him regulated and feeling better.

I know I am one lucky mommabean to have my Bean in remission....But, dont get me wrong... I watch her like no other, cuz I know at any time ---she could be back on insulin..We are a controlled diet diabetic - that is all - for now.

I just tested last nite cuz she was drinking at the sink, bg was 49. So, I have Louies mommabean bringing me her meter so I can get another test - jic.... IS 70 AFTTER EATING!

She is still eating the same, drinking the same and really playing the same... Although, she seems extra pissy for some reason???? Had a small child around for 1 1/2 days... wasnt the best thing for her. I over worry like no other!

Hang in there.... this is still very very new ;-)
