For those of you who don't know Spock, he was surrendered by his owner in San Francisco. He was within days of being pts when Dr. Jen Hendee in Santa Cruz agreed to foster him. I saw Jennifer's DCIN post on this FDMB, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Lisa(and Merlin) and Chris(cleo) drove him from San Francisco to Roseburg, Oregon. I met them this morning and brought my baby home (such a good boy in the car). He is settling in the bathroom for now as most of his "siblings" are out in the catio right now and I want to introduce them slowly. He is the sweetest, shy guy but starts purring when you touch him.
He's a link to his DCIN blog: Spock's DCIN blog
There's also a link in my signature to a narrative/summary from Dr. Hendee. It's nice to have the foster mom be a vet! Although at the outset all we knew was that he was diabetic (was being fed dry food) and that he needed a dental, he does have other issues that will need to be addressed. But we'll get through it
He has an appointment with my vet tomorrow morning to mainly evaluate his dental needs (she's a dental specialist - yea!) and to see if his heart murmur requires an echo.
Per Dr. Hendee, his numbers have been ~100 and has been getting one unit, but she said he was having issues with not eating (he was on EVO95) so his dosing has not been consistent. Thankfully that is no longer an issue because Lisa & Chris found out he prefers FF grilled! He has been getting higher carb food, but I'm not worried about it at the moment - I just want him to eat!
Will update tomorrow after he sees my vet Dr. Van.
