The vet sent me home with amoxicillan last week ... which he hates, of course. The urine results today were negative for bacteria, so it is something else.
Whatever it is, it is responding to the amoxicillan - he finally tested below 300 this morning. (I've been testing, but the spreadsheet isn't up to date by quite a while!) And he's being friendly and outgoing again - no meatloafing. His eyes seem less goopy (which they get when his bg is high). He snuggled me awake this morning, probably because he was actually hungry again.
I also picked up some Sophisticat Turkey and Giblets to try because the Special Kitty had been the consistency of mush the last couple of weeks. The pride (11 of them) prefers their food 'al dente' and scarfed the 50/50 mix last night - all 8 cans worth. I put out the equivalant of 10 cans of food this morning, still half and half mixed. There was no evidence of any of them having any bathroom troubles with it, other than 1 slightly loose poop. Could be Spitzer's due to the antibiotic.
