Spice Update March 8 Evening

Well Spice is home. She seems to be acting a little better. They got her bg down to around 380. Which is a lot better than the other day. The vet tech fed her baby food but said she vomitted right after which isn't good. They gave her something for that. Other than that they did get some food in her a few hours later. They have her on a pecid ac regiment to help with the nausea. They also have her on An Amino B+K for low potassium. Along with the Clavamox. As well as the fluids under her skin. My roomate picked her up from the vet. Thank goodness for that. He is going to help tomorrow with the fluids in the am and I will take the nite shift since She will not be able to go to the vet tomorrow. It is going to be a long nite. I did get some baby food in her not much. But a little helps. She is walking a little better tonite. We have to keep her warm her body temp is a little low. I believe she said it was at 97.1. I am looking to get help financially. I will have to work on that tomorrow.
We are keeping her warm with a towel covering her with 2 - 2 liter bottles full of warm water next to her.
Anyway I have to try and get some food in her again.

Clavamox can upset the tummies of some cats, David. I would suggest giving her the Pepcid A/C a good hour before giving her food.....give it time to get into the system. I'm so glad she is home and still with you. Prayers that you can get some fiancial help to get her over this.

I'm sure that she's happy to be home. Hopefully she'll eat a bit through the night and feel better in the morning. Here are a few things to try to entice her to eat.

Heat the food for a few seconds in the microwave
Add hot water to make a thick slurry
Sprinkle a bit of parmesan cheese on the food
Add a few drops of tuna juice
