Special Kitty

I've been feeding Squeak some of Walmart brand "Special Kitty." Is this bad? Just curious. Fancy Feast got so expensive with him vacuuming the food bowl. Just curious. I'm still feeding him one can of FF a day along with SK. I can't remember the two types but they are low in carbs. Just curious.

It used to be called Sophisticat and was on par with the Friskies pates, which are mostly low carb too.

So this would be OK to feed him? When I looked online, there were pros and cons. I'm just using some as a little 'filler' along with his Fancy Feast and I'm stewing a chicken every week end and feeding him some of that, along with the other food. He seems to be doing well. I need to get him back to the vet to have his numbers checked. He's a wild cat AND has vampire ears.

Yes, its OK to feed.

With adding chicken, don't add more than 1 oz to 5 oz or you may throw the nutrition balance off. (per Dr Pierson of cat Info).

As long as the Special Kitty is "pate" or "ground" style and not "gravy style", it should be low carb just like the FF or Friskees flavors.
