Sous-vide homemade diet

I'm thinking of transitioning both my boys (12+) to a homemade diet of mostly ground beef with a diet completer. I've tried to feed them cooked ground beef in the past and the reception has been lukewarm. When they were younger I would give them small cuts of par cooked beef and they would go bonkers for it. They'd snarl and growl like little leopards eating it.

I'd prefer to better control my sugar kitty's diet and his brother has a chicken allergy so finding a quality single protein source that they'll eat has been a journey. They eat Fancy Feast trout feast, 7+ beef feast, and I've been mixing in Tiki Silver tuna and mackerel but the Fancy Feast still has some chicken. Plus, the Fancy Feast is higher in phosphorus.

My question is has anyone used their sous-vide to par cook ground meat to eliminate bacteria?

Any number of us feed a raw food diet. I buy organic ground pork at Whole Foods. I've also gotten venison there. I never tried sous vide or cooking their food. I've also never had a problem with a raw diet. When making their food, I freeze portions in an ice cube tray. If you freeze food for at least 24 hours, you are going to kill off any bacteria.

Chicken/poultry and beef are common allergens for cats.

I also like the pre-mix made by FoodFur Life.

Hare-Today.com is a good place to source raw meat for pet food use.

A good butcher shop should be able to special order any item you want. Ethnic markets are good places to find a variety of meats and organs and the like that American markets don't have.

There are some local groups / co-ops / clubs that do a raw meat / pet food subscription thing to members. Here's one list but I don't know how up to date it is: DogAware.com: Raw Dog Food Co-ops and Local Groups
