I know I just saw a post the other day with a couple sources for low carb treats, but now I can't find it.

Can anyone direct me to that post or give the information again?

Thanks!

I have been thinking on trying this for treats, but I dont know if it will work or not, I havent had time to test it out.

I was thinking to take a can of low carb friskies or fancy feast and kind of cut or mold it into little squares and bake it in the oven at a low temp for until the moisture is out and it maybe resembles the treats they used to get, but it would be low carb. Does anyone think this will work?

I actually have made treats that way for my cats except I throw it into the blender with a little catnip and then put it into those little molds for mints and freeze them. They pop right out and then I store them in a plastic tupperware container. I have put them on the plastic sheets used for fruit leather in a dehydrater.

Another one that wasn't listed that my entire gang just loves is sold as dog treats at Wal-mart under the brand name Waggin Train. It comes in either chicken or duck but it is freeze dried jerky, since they are made for dogs they are fairly large pieces, so I take kitchen shears and snip them into bite size pieces and store those in a plastic container. Both work great and I've never seen them raise Max's BGs. On the dog treats I get 22oz for $10, which makes a ton of kitty size treats.

I've been giving my kitty, Shadow, freeze-dried chicken called Pure Bites (says for dogs but it's "made with only 1 ingredient. 100% Natural and Pure USDA Inspected Chicken Breast"). I bought the 3 oz size from Amazon using a free month trial of prime 2-day ship with my new google email address.

I crumble the Pure Bites on his canned food and give him Halo chicken bites (I'm not crazy about it having preservatives so looked for and discovered the pure bites brand) after poking his ear. He goes nuts for the Halo and will follow me anywhere if I shake the container... but thank God also loves the Pure Bites.

We get the Pure Bites Freeze Dried Chicken Breast, 11.6 oz. There's a minimum order required, you'll need to order at least 2 of the large bags, or combine with other stuff on the site.
choy-foong sent me this site and she says this is the cheapest she has found for the pure bites

Hmmm...I noticed that Beefeaters treats aren't on that list. They're available at Petsmart and not as expensive as the freeze-dried treats I find in the specialty cat food store.

I got some of these at Petsmart today and my cats love them. They stink more than I imagined, though the ingredients say it's just freeze-dried chicken.

I also saw these on the shelf with the dog treats and will probably try them sometime soon since my cats all tend to love liver. The f-d liver is the only ingredient and they weren't too expensive either.

Bandit loves both the Beefeaters chicken and the salmon, but neither of my cats would touch the freeze-dried shrimp. Which is odd, because Bandit will eat *anything*, including things that cats aren't supposed to want, like banana bread or pizza crust. So I would not recommend trying those out, but the other two are great.
