Sophie - my 17-year-old civvie - has been diagnosed with a large benign cyst on her neck. Thyroid tests all clear. Vet Russell says there is no option but to operate to remove the cyst, as it is just getting larger. I've booked her in for 8am next Tuesday.
Spent ages talking about safety of Metacam, Convenia etc - he says he's never had any problems but I'm sending him some links just so he's clued up.
Needless to say, I am as nervous as hell and I've impressed on Russell how very very precious Sophie is and how he is to take the very greatest care and not take any risks. He says he will do his very best and if for any reason there are complications as he is operating, he will close up and refer her to a specialist.
I suppose this is good news that there's nothing "nasty" as such but I am shaking like a leaf
