There is good news and bad news.. Jan her t4 89 and now it is 29... good news...her sugar was 58 in jan and now it is 170.. bad news... her Bun is now 78 and it was normal before. I have given her FF and sometimes FF in gravy. Her kidneys are not working as well anymore.

Sophia has been diet controlled since July 2005 which was wonderful.

I think I quit giving her FF with gravy and start her on a kidney diet.

Any ideas... she is 16 and she and I are just hanging in there...Thank you.

Be careful with the kidney diets with a diabetic though. Most of the prescription diets are very very high in carbs and have very little quality protein in them. There is the occasional post on here with info for people that have diabetic kitties with kidney problems. Maybe try doing a search for CRF will turn it up.

There are some good foods that you can feed that with help with both the diabetes and the kidney problems...EVO 95% Venison, EVO 95% Beef, and Wellness Turkey are all very good. If you need something less expensive, Friskies Special Diet Turkey & Giblets, Salmon, and Beef & Chicken are all good, too.

I would not be too concerned with the BUN. It is elevated by a high protein diet. What were the Creatinine and phosphorous levels and ranges What was the urine specific gravity
