I have a copy of the test. Blood sugar 185... normal 64-170 I tested on my people meter and it was 75. I don't understand that.

Urea Nitrogen 65 normal 14-36

T4 5.6 normal 0.8-4.0

Urin Analysis Occult blood 1+ should be neg
This all does not look very good. Is there anything I can do. I am already giving meds for Hyper T. The vet upped it a little and she is not on insulin and I don't think I want to start since she is just a little over normal.

Thanks for your help.

Even a little bit over the normal glucose range may cause damage to the body, particularly the kidneys.

What are you feeding? There are some low carb, quality protein, and most importantly low phosphorus canned foods out there that are OK to feed.

I feed FF and chicken. She is simply refusing all the kidney food that I got from the vet and she finally said that it was more important to eat than starve/.

The 185 was a test done while she was at the vet? It very likely was stress, and that's why your number at home came down so nicely.

Any time you go to the vet, test her at home before you leave, test her again at the vet, and then test here about 30min after she gets home. Those numbers will let you know how well she handles vet visits.

Sophia is called 'The cat from hell' at the vet's. She is a tortie very feisty and fights like crazy and turns feral when they draw blood. She has been high at the vets all the time and much lower at home even though she is fighting here too. I guess I just take my figures that have been under 100 since Ict 2005.I check her from time to time.

The Urea Nitrogen 65 normal 14-36 can be normal with a high protein diet.
What was the urine specific gravity? That is a good indicator of kidney degradation.
Also, what was the blood creatinine value? That is a better indicator than Urea for kidney problems
Was a needle used to get the urine from the bladder? If so sometimes that will introduce blood in the urine,
This indicates T4 5.6 normal 0.8-4.0 hyperthyroidism and treatment is necessary

Larry,,, the creatinine is 2.1 in the normal range. The specific gravity is 1.018 in the normal range. we are treating ther hyper-t with crfeam on her ears. I feel a low carb diet is good for her diabetes but then again the high protein diet is bad for her kidneys The urin came from a clean litterbox. I put the granules in that the vet gave me. Thanks for your help/

A USG of 1.018 is not normal. It indicates significant degradation of kidney function. With no kidney deficiency, USG is >1.040. Sorry for not so good news.
