Please see this link, im not sure if this is what is happening with Brady but it sure seems to fit the explanation on this website. https://www.merck-animal-health-usa.com/vetsulin/cats/somogyi-effect

Brady has never had this high of numbers consistently until he was given higher doses of insulin, I know bouncing is in play as well, but the way this site describes this insulin effect seems to fit what is happening to Brady, any thoughts????? After he has those real highs in the next cycle or two he is remaining flat with BG in the 300 and 400's. With the way the pattern has been going I have a feeling those are the type numbers im going to get today with him...Please, any suggestions or comments would help us, thank you

Just wondering if you have asked on prozinc board. Deb should be able to help. No?

Yes, I did sorta...I explained to them that I made a post on this portion of the site and also filled them in a little bit with what is going on....Deb and Marje did make some comments on his numbers before and gave some information......

How have you been, haven't seen you in a while?

I cant help yo with your question but I didnt know if you were posting on the prozinc board. Glad you got some responses.

Oh I've been around. I do a lot of hopscotching. :p

Nice to see ya!:):coffee:

Nice to see you too....Today is my grandsons 1st Bday party, doing a social distancing gathering for him, only a few people....turning 1 in this crisis sorta sucks...
Aww I guess congratulations are in order HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY LIL ONE!
A little bittersweet since you cant hold him but ya know what? You made it this far without contracting anything and he did too!

@Irish Pat

Here are some threads for you to read through about Somogyi:

Somogyi and bounces

Charlie’s Thread Regarding Somogyi Note:
this thread has a lot of good info in it but Charlie was on Lantus and then Levemir. The basic info applies regarding Somogyi but, obviously, there is info provided that relates directly to the long acting insulins and Somogyi.

Happy first birthday to your little one!

What is your grandson's name?

Hope the "social distancing" 1st birthday celebration for him went well.

It was a nice "little" gathering of family for my grandsons first birthday, this virus sure has changed the way lifes precious moments are celebrated. Lets just hope his second birthday is celebrated with many hugs and kisses from everyone...His name is Weston and he is so adorable.
