Yeah just tell me what you need or what you'd like to try - I've been there, done that, and my own Fena was only diagnosed August 26th so not even 2 months ago!
Here's a trick for crushed medicine - DISSOLVE IT, fully. If you're adding any water to your babies food before a meal, make sure it's HOT - I put a kettle on my stove but don't let it boil, I wait until I see it steaming or hear it making faint noise. Then crush up the pill(s), put them in a dish - then add at least 2 tablespoons of the hot water and use the tip of a spoon to stir it around until it's dissolved. Then add that, to their meal.
The hotter the water, the faster/easier the pill powder dissolves and the less likely you are to have your baby detect it once it's fully mixed in.
Another trick - you know the gravy/juice/jelly that's in canned food/pates? Yeah, use THAT - get as much of it as you can into a kitty bowl, then add the crushed pill(s) and 1-2 tbs. of hot water and stir, stir, stir.
OR, if you have a liquid syringe from the vet (no needle, small hole) - make sure it's one where you can "pull the plunger out" completely. Some have a plastic ring and won't allow it but it you ask your vet, they can give you a removable kind. I have 4 of those alone!
Using a piece of paper, wax paper, or thin cardboard (like a greeting card) rip off 1/3rd - fold it in half, make sure the fold-seam is tight - so once you fold it, use a pen, letter opener, something, to run back and forth along the fold seam to flatten it - just a few times.
Then open it - and put the pill, half pill, etc. inside it against the fold about 1-2 inches from the edge and fold it closed over the pill. Using the back of a big spoon, etc. "crush" the pill inside the "envelope" - best way is to press down flat, then "roll" the spoon in circles pressing down and rotating along the edges of the spoon.
Once it's crushed, GENTLY - GENTLY, open the paper - the pill should be crushed into a flat powdery pancake but don't be fooled, it's tricky. Using the END of the spoon handle, GENTLY poke/crush at the powder pancake to break it up from a sheet, into powder again but go slow. Scrape the paper, make sure nothing is sticking to it.
Pull the plunger out of the syringe. In your non-dominate hand, plug the hole that would normally go in their mouth with a finger as you hold it - then, using a Dixie cup (think disposable cups for using mouthwash, getting a drink of water, etc.) carefully pour in some hot water (FROM THE TAP, NOT THE KETTLE) - make this easier, you can lightly "crush" the upper lip of the cup until one end forms a V "spout" for pouring.
I don't know the med amounts you're giving, but roughly - 1/2 a small round pill (pea size or smaller) once crushed, you want 1cc water to mix it. With 1/2 a medium round pill (small lima bean, coin) you want 2cc's - 1/2 a large pill, practically human sized you want 3cc's. Basically, 2x the volume per water.
With your dominate hand, pour the water into the top of the now open syringe slooowly - it'll fill up faster than you think! You can adjust as needed but TRY to aim for the corresponding line - then, using your dominate hand, carefully pick up the paper with the crushed pill.
Put the V end into the top of the syringe as you did the water and gently "shake" the powdered pill into it - since you used the handle of the spoon to break up the "patty" powder into loose powder again this should be easy.
Then, with your dominate hand, put the plunge of the syringe back into it but go slowly - you'll feel the "pressure" against your non-dominant hand's finger plugging the hole. You just want to push the plunger in enough to seat it, so it won't go anywhere.
Then slowly turn the syringe upside down (plunger side down) and slowly remove your finger from the "mouth-end" hole - this will release excess air.
Slowly push the plunger in until you reach 2x the dose - example, if you crushed a half of a small pill in 1cc, press until the plunger is at 2 or 2.5ccs - then plug the "mouth end" with a finger again and SHAAAAAAKE. Shake shake shake. Vertical, horizontal, both, etc. and shakeshakeshake.
In the end the liquid should be slightly cloudy with the dissolved pill and NO chunks seen. Then, squirt into their food to mix it in.
Or, slowly push out the air until the liquid is at the top of the mouth-end, and give orally to the cat.
You can substitute the water with tuna water if you want, or broth, etc. Microwave heating is easiest but you can also use a metal or Pyrex measuring cup to gently heat it, then transfer to the Dixie cup/cup to pour into the syringe.
There's a ton of other tips and tricks on this site, many of which helped me out! Which is why I decided to start posting my own, too.
