I've looked around for some specific forums on ketoacidosis in cats and feeding with no luck. I don't know that I'm looking in the right place. So:
Questions 1: Are there any specific FORUMS or INFO POSTS about DKA and/or homemade raw feeding? I have already been to the Health Links/FAQ forum and have gotten as much info as possible.
Question 2: When a cat seems to be over a slight bout of DKA, when do you stop letting him eat as much as he likes? When his ketones go back to normal? (If you'd like to learn more about Boo's recent bout of DKA to better answer this question, please see here. )
Question 3: When I switched from kibble to raw, Boo appeared to loose size but not weight. Now that he's had a brush against DKA, I'm worried that he's being underfed. He's at ~11 lb. Various websites I've read consistently state to feed 2-3% of his body weight total per day. Some sites state that 2.5% should be used to keep him at weight. For a situation like Boo's, should I increase his food intake (His numbers from this morning are from still feeding like he has DKA. I'm probably going to feed him normally this evening.)
