Ok so long story short Vengeance and my other cat Nightwing got into left overs of a small bag of trail mix this morning and I was worried about them and the raisins.. so I took them to the vet at 2.. they have been acting fine all day.. no idea exactly what time they got into the trail mix... so first thing I worried about was a blood sugar spike being they ate the peanuts,M&Ms and Raisins( unsure how many was in the bottom of tiny bag) when I tested him right after I saw it he was at 78 ( human meter Reli on )which is about his norm ( I still test him at least once a week even thou hes been in remission 2 years this week...) and I hd no idea what time they actually got into the trail mix between 6am and 12pm when I was going to give lunch.. they still have not eaten.. I took to the vet they said it was iffy thing to know being that they dont know how many raisins they ate (the choc wasnt worried about) they forced charcoal into Vengeance being hes a vaccum cleaner and will put about anything in his mouth.. so was worried about him... I just tested him being I was going to give him some food they said wait a few hrs after the charcoal and give him a small amout of food.. and I tested him and it had jumped up to 197 he hasnt had a # over 88 in 2 years.. I am hoping its due to the stress of it all.. ( they didnt test him at vets being they know he was in remission and I told them the readings I had gotten 2 hrs before) should I feed him ( fancy feast Chicken pate) or let him wait longer and hope the # goes does before feeding I dont want it to jump up more then crash back down later being I have no insulin for him anymore.... Thoughts?? should I call the vet back or just give it time... Thanks so much and I am thankful for yall helping getting him into remission 2 years ago.. now I am worried this has pushed him out of it :(

Thanks I forgot about tagging... @JanetNJ was always a big help when he was first diagnosed as well.. I havent fed him as of yet I was going to test him at 6:30 est which would be a 2hr since the High reading I did read that sometimes it takes 3-6 hrs for it to come down after so much stress so praying thats it but dont know if feeding him will make it spike higher then dip too low later...being I have no insulin if it does.. to try and even him back out if this is a roller coaster start :(
( 13 hrs or so no food and I usually feed him every 6 I need to get him on a 12 hr schedule ughh) and see if number came down I had retested at 30 mins and it had came down to 195 which is prob just strip change...

Ok just tested and thankfully its Dropped to 120 so it must be from the stress of them pumping charcoal in his stomach...going to give him a little food then test him again hour after see where he is... his Kidneys when I tested that earlier were at 0.0 so all good there the 911 can be taken off Sorry but was super scared and upset due to him being in remission and doing so well for 2 years.. and I lost another cat back in Nov to poising ( he was an outside cat and someone poisoned him) so I have been in weird place worrying about my cats since loosing him...

OK update I decided to give him a little bit of food at 7 about 10 mins later he threw up all the charcoal they had pumped in his stomach and 5 whole raisins and 3 half peanuts so guess it never got very far past his stomach... thanks for all the help :) I have sent a lot of people off tiktok with diabetic cats here hopefully they are on here and getting the help for their fur babies as I did :) I just checked him at 10 and he was at 72 whewwww

OK sooo UGHHH just decided to test him before I gave him late night food and hes dropped to 58.. he has not had a number under 72 in 2 years he usually stays in the High 70's and highest normally is 88 .... now he has only had about 1/2 a can of food in the past 20+ hrs and he threw most of that back up at 7.. could that be whats got his number low??? hes still super Normal just his number is Low... even when he was on insulin his numbers never got in the 50s but a few times ( he was only on Insulin for a few weeks after he was diagnosed) ... UGHHHHHHHHH should I just give him his normal Fancy feast or try and get something higher Carb... I know hes not UNDER 50 but this is freaking me out... and hes acting 100% normal...

58 is normal, he has not had insulin injections. He's going a little lower because he hasn't had food. Regular low carb food should be fine.

THanks so much just really gun shy now with this stuff being havent dealt with it in 2 years... gave him 1/4 can of fancy feast Chicken pate about 25 mins ago will test him and give him the other half of can (feeding1/4 can amounts due to the throwing up and charcoal today figure if he eats whole meal at once might be too much for stomach)( he gets half a can every 6 hrs so 2 cans a day hes 14.68 lbs ) and test again in hour or 2... thanks so much
