so my cat's number was normal last night so I didn't give him a shot...

First time ever totally excited!!! But his preshot today was 250! Sooooo...i was giving him 2.5units ..switching to young again has clearly made a difference, but I'm not sure how many units I should give him now..i gave him just 1 today, cuz i didn't want him to drop too low and his nadirs are always good...any advice on how to proceed?? Thanks.

Without a history of BG reading at preshot time as well as some between I really can't make a recommendation. Most of us here rerod ar BGs, does and other info in a spreadsheet that you allow others to view. Here is how to set it up.

Yea, I write it all by hand, when I touch spread sheets they break. Preshots have been in the 250s or higher as of late..nadirs around 50s to 80s

I record by hand too and then transfer the information to the spreadsheet. That way if something goes terribly wrong with the spreadsheet I still have my written notes. If you do want to try the spreadsheet, instructions are here. You can also set up the spreadsheet from a mobile device with the instructions here. It really does help people here to advise you on when to give insulin or not and whether to change the dose if they can see your BG numbers and trends in the standard spreadsheet.
