Hello all, Sneakers doesn't have much of an update, bumped up her dose to 15.5u (from 14 so maybe I'll get something soon).

At 14 she was surfing in the low 200's- nothing higher than 269 in the last 3 days so that is good, but no drops into blue although one AMPS was 207. My order should be on it's way to arrive (still) 2 weeks. I found a Lev pen and started that Monday morning.

She is still lazy and sleeping all day and I've noticed spraying again- but still CANNOT find the place she sprayed. Am wondering if I have stink-bugs in the house now as I can't find a puddle, stream, spot, spray, or smell spot at all :?

Have you tried a UV light? It has to be completely dark, but it does work. I got mine at PetSmart, but you can get them on line (like Amazon).

If she sprayed before, like when her diabetes was not being treated, it could just be the heat and humidity releasing the scent from floorboards or carpet pads (under carpet) -they are both so hard to clean. When I first had Jeddie with his issues, I ended up ripping out carpet in one bedroom and bleaching and sealing the subfloor before putting down self-stick tiles.

She's not sprayed before that I know of but this is coming up more frequently- this week it smelled like two or three times.

I will check on getting a black light- I read on another post that Hobby Lobby has a hand held one that runs on batteries.

I once had a male intruder, years ago, that would come in for food and spray but I have bought new LR furniture since then.

Thanks for the tip. My eyes seem blind and I can't smell it out...

If you find the source, and it's washable, I use vinegar in the laundry - comforters, anything that can fit in. I once had someone pee on my softside waterbed. I took the entire thing apart, carrried it to the laundermat, and filled one of the GIANT big-boy washers w/ the cover, foam etc of the queen sized bed. Barely fit! Then I bought plastic mattress covers.

Hopefully you'll find the source. I know how frustrating that is!

Off last Friday so did a curve, 16.5u and she stayed in the blues all morning and then some in the evening as well  !

Spent the rest of the weekend in yellows so it is time to up again...

She's started to groom more than just her front feet- was working on her hind legs on Saturday and jumped up on the couch beside me to be petting for 12 minutes straight :-D ! Both habits that I haven't seen in over a year.

WOW!
went to 18u last night and she showed me 164 AMPS :-D :-D :-D

Shot another 18u at AM and at +2 she was 189 at her out the door test.

She has decided to veto trout. And possibly salmon. And maybe the crab... Sigh  .

At least she still eats the raw chicken  .

Just about. I think I might be tapping her dose finally though.

My next pack will go fast. Hopefully I can start to order in multiples of 3 (packs). It will be about $370 at a time but will last longer and I wouldn't have to turn around and reorder every month to get here on time. I at least won't have to worry about them becoming bad because of being old :-D .

A little vomit yesterday in the back hall so I dropped to 17u just in case until I can curve this weekend.

And Gayle suggests I get cat grass...

I feel your pain on the insulin purchases. If the test strips don't eat you alive, the high doses will. Hopefully we'll see something of a change soon, and the pens won't go so fast... I can hope, at least!!! I'm at 16 and anticipating an increase by the weekend if nothing changes.

I think back to the times when I cringed giving 6 units... and now I don't even blink as I do 16. Something is wrong with that picture!!!

Yes... I had a 164 pre-shot and gave 18u- at least it was on Sunday and i knew I would be home most of the day  .

That is why I do her raises at night, though. At least i'll know by bedtime (usually +9 or later) if she's flooring it and I need to intervene. At AM I'm gone by +2 and would worry about her all day until I got home again.

But increasing by 1.5u really showed some drop at least.

Glad you're finally seeing some action. It's hard to make such a big jump, but in the grand scheme, it's not that high - percentage-wise. Glad she's doing okay... hopefully the peeing is just a reaction to wanting her box cleaned more frequently? Grayson sometimes goes in and stands up too high, doing (as Sue/Linus described) the firehose imitation - spraying everything in site! My girls are all squatters, however, so not sure... Maybe an infection?
