I think I did a fur shot- She was 299 +11 from this mornings shot because i usually get home at the tail end of +12 hours so was adjusting- now it will be +15hrs.

I will take her numbers when I get home and if they are high should I go ahead and shoot a half dose or should I just wait until morning?
Her next AM shot I can fudge the other way to 7am which would be a +10. Make sense?

I have to run now.

Thanks.

PLease wait!
you never know ifyou got any in and if you dose mid cycle it could be bad
I have seen people dose midcycle and then hypo
I know waiting is so hard...but it is the best thing to do

If it was a fur shot, I would just chalk it down to a bad day and shoot at the regular time. It is possible that some went in, and then you are guessing how much. Seems like maybe too strict a rule, but if you got in more than you guessed and you dosed on top of that, you could easily end up with a hypo. Much worse than one high cycle......

Do NOT shoot again. Even though this cycle might be higher than you would like, the dangers of the higher cycle are nothing compared to the potential dangers that a second dose could create. You have no idea how much insulin got into the cat and it would be very dangerous to shoot again.

Okay- and her numbers are not astronomical so she must have gotten something- 392 but she had 330 when 'shot' and she tends to climb slow. And I think it was fasting as she hadn't finished what I left and it didn't look to even be touched.

I'll just remember than her AM numbers will be higher than normal.

Thanks a bunch!

Great example of why you never shoot twice!!!! You never know how much insulin they got, even on possible fur shots!

Good Luck today!
