Well, I left from home without her chart so I can't update it- I hate when I do that :-x .

She's been doing good these last few days... going away for a day or so lets Sneakers know how easy it is for me to care for her and new people just keep POKING!!!! Used to, when I was away her punishment for me was very rough play, scratching and biting my hands or feet aggressively when I got back and tried to pet her. Now she cuddles and purrs as she knows I'll take good care of her with a lot less pain  .

Ketones are negative as of last night- was a little worried as I told mom dropped the dose for two days when she couldn't get the meter to work and we didn't know her numbers. Currently she hasn't been in the low 200's (occasionally the high 200's) at shot time but I didn't want to chance it, really, with no one being home to watch her.

About +8 this morning she was a solid blue- 160 something but I can't remember, but under the 20pt margin :-D . I will update SS when I get home tonight after sewing.

No stories about Sneakers but mom and the neighbors apparently had to break in after mom locked herself out... And no one noticed the spare key on the back porch, even when they moved the litter box it was hiding under... So, needless to say, the really creepy neighbor I have knows how to climb in my bathroom window  . It is currently locked, thank you very much.

Well better that the creepy neighbor knows how to crawl into your bathroom window that you can lock than for him to know where the spare key is hidden! And why is it always the creepy ones that show up to help when someone gets locked out...it is never the nice little old lady down the street that makes fantastic lemon cookies..lol

Maybe you should put the spare key IN the litter box?! No one will think to look there, not even a desperate, creepy neighbor. Of course, it has some drawbacks for you if you ever need it.....

Will look for updated SS later.

Usually I have it in the shed in a very high place as all of my family is tall, but my Chicago pet sitter would have NEVER been able to reach it  . I just shoved it back under the box just in case it was her again but mom said she would do it instead... didn't tell her where it was though as she already had a key. And by litter box I mean that it is one of the empty litter boxes that the clay litter comes in with a snap lid- I put my used litter in it so I can throw it out in the trash. I can actually tape it to the bottom of the box as it is usually got a bag (or 4) in it.

That's some good news- occasionally her pee pats are NOT the size of a bowl. A few of them are only the size of a small orange :-D . And she is sitting here grooming- she has been doing that more recently.

Her +8 blue was actually 132- even better!

I have noticed 4 blues recently. The reds can be attributed directly to food, so I think she is liking the doses better on Lev than PZI. And I have no idea about the black this morning- it was after her food... maybe i should have tested again now that I think about it that number is highly unusual. Her pinks haven't been so high and her yellows have been much lower than normal and throwing a few blues in there means I am at least heading in the right direction. As she still is having pinks I will up her dose again and see how that goes. As she got her shot an hour late tonight I will give her normal dose in the morning and then up it tomorrow night- I think I will try to do 3.75u.

I've been on the same pen for a month now and I've still got 1/2 the pen to go so it definitely lasts longer.

That +8 is nice.

Now, what's this about a "Chicago" pet sitter? Aren't you in Arkansas or something?

Pens will last to the "last drop" when stored in the fridge where they can't get frozen or excessively jiggled. Mine have lasted 8+ months until I use them up. You will go through one faster with a higher dose, but they should last until you finish them.

In March I went to Chicago and my pet sitter was about 2 feet shorter than I was so I moved the key. I hadn't replaced it in its normal spot again.

And I read that about the flexpens and have been very particular about where they are in my fridge :-D . The main basis was that I had the bigger vial of PZI and humulin and they both lasted about 2 months while I've been on Lev (larger u, yes) for a month but have only used half of ONE pen when I used to be halfway through a whole vial. That's my happy.

Her numbers are getting better and nadir is at about the right time +8/+9. I suspect the 500 was a reaction to the 132. I don't see a BG that low anywhere on her chart except once toward the top, a 106. That was on 4U of whichever insulin that was.

It might help to hold the 3.5U a few more days, to see if she can get a repeat of that 132.

A Lev pen has 300U in it, so at 3U it would last close to 50 days. 4U would still last little over a month. And the beauty is that it's a better insulin overall and it sounds like she is feeling better.
