I know it's late but I thought i would post.
Sneakers is doing good with the change- we shoot on a 6/6 schedule and her numbers have been in the yellows
and pinks  no reds or blacks
. Once there was a blue- but I might not have had enough blood to test. I was tired, it was 2am, she didn't want me to retest... you know the drill...
Ketones are back- but I feel that they are part of me reducing her insulin rather than an infection- her bloodwork last week said she was fine and nothing else was going on. I hope to give her another day or two on just the 2u before increasing. She is a little more active, I think (could be wishful) and today she chased a clod of dirt when the wind picked it up- ZOOM! Pounced right on it. Then she sat very still for the next 20 minutes as if that took all she had  . She was staring at a dandelion part of the time, maybe trying to get some zen going.
She is being picky on her food- ignores the raw chicken in favor of FF. She's done it before so I shall go all FF and deal with the horrible smelly poop for a week or so then she will like the chicken again. She had lost a pound since January, so in May she will go back to the vet and do some more bloodwork- her BUN was slightly elevated by 3pts and he wants to check on that. We should be in full swing with the levemir and (hopefully) she won't still be eating like a horse.
On my plus side- I got the front area irrigated (drip- SO EASY) and the finished digging the back trench today- what a difference 20 degrees makes in your ability to do hard labor  . All that is left is the two side areas for future garden expansion (more trenching) and I can get the drip lines in the beds together. Sneakers loves it when I'm outside, she gets to lay on the porch and feel the breeze.
