Hello everyone! We've just been doing the same 'ol, same 'ol over in the Sneaky house for the past week  .

Sneakers is doing well- most PS are high blues or low yellows, a few pinks but that has mostly been with food... Negative ketones (food intake is down so I check every other day instead of every 4/5 days)... sleeping- the same... pooping- every other day now so I might up the mirilax in the morning. She does like to slide out the cat door and sit on the porch at night- all her feet curled under her as she sits on the mat  . Still has arthritis pain that i can tell so a vet visit is scheduled for Monday (as is a curve- oh, shoot! That might blow it  )

Just made another batch of raw and she has been eating it as long as it thaws on its own- thaw it in the microwave and she won't eat it  . So it gets left out in the morning and at night to thaw for her eating pleasure.

We have Monday off :-D and I will build her ramp and an outdoor kitty shelter for my mom who is taking in the dumped cat of my friends neighbor and, if I have anything left, stairs for the bed. Mom said she would take him if he's to be an outside cat so I want to build a cozy shelter for him for rain and cold weather.

I have a large crate with straw right now for a temporary measure- if it rains it will get covered with a tarp b/c it has holes all over. He isn't here yet- I want him checked out at the vet to make sure he (his ca-hones parts are there) is checked for FIV status, leukemia neg, and to get his shots and neutered. He looks about 5-7 years old, not obese but well muscled. He is orinch and white. I'll get pictures some time- I didn't have my phone with me. He accepted me driving up and petting him so that is good.

And, if that wasn't enough, my aunt called asking if I wanted ANOTHER cat. At least this one likes to ride in the car as she has been hitch-hiking in the SUV for trips out to the country (and back) for the last month without her knowing about it (all three of them   )

You're going to be busy with construction this weekend. How come your mom doesn't want the new guy inside? I bet once he is neutered he will become a love bug.

Hope you can get Sneaker's stairs made. With the cold weather coming on, her arthritis will make getting on the bed harder.

Lastly, raw food should not be thawed in the micro, it will actually kill the enzymes in it and start to cook it - so, Sneakers knows best!

I didn't know that  ! So its a complete self thaw for my girls raw food from now on  No defrost at all!

As for an outdoor vs indoor I have no idea. It might be that he does warm his way inside by the time winter is fully here, I don't know. She didn't mind Sneakers inside the house but she might be thinking of males spray and mark territory- she never liked that about the other male cats we had.

And Sneakers has a vet appt on Monday to talk about arthritis, get her yearly shots, see how she is doing. Its late enough I can snooze in, take her to the vet, and then get back to work on projects. I'll cut out and stuff at my house but put it together at hers.

I've noticed she snores more now and the wheezing is back  .

You can start the thawing process in the fridge... and can also put it in a ziplock baggie and set in warm water.

Is the new guy is neutered he shouldn't spray inside, but there are no guarantees with either sex. Jeddie was neutered and peed "all over" until I started him on prozac. Cami is peeing on the rugs here and there. I already started her on prozac. Might have to up the dose...

Sorry to hear Sneakers is snoring and wheezing more. I now that isn't something you want to be hearing either. (((hugs)))

I think it has to do with the 'room' amount in her body as she was such a petite cat to begin with and while the tumor causes all sorts of organs and stuff to grow the skeletal system normally doesn't- so she has large organs in a small rib cage. I think that is why her belly is so big now (stuff getting squashed down to where there is room) and she doesn't like it when I push at her top area- no problem on the lower closer to the stomach, which I do check on when she doesn't eat her normal amount for p-titis as I know it can occur in diabetic cats and am terrified of it happening to Sneakers.

Plus- the tumor causes thickening of the airways so they are more apt to snore and wheeze as the space narrows.

Since the raw food is in ice cube form I just set it out on the plate- 4 cubes of raw plus two cubes of thawed canned cubes in the morning for daily munching. And she gets another two cubes of raw overnight plus what she wants to eat of the canned. I get mottled poop when she is on the raw- dark and light mixed together  . Still smells bad though   .

Yes- both of the other males were neutered and they both sprayed- one more than the other. They didn't overlap each other and there were no other cats in the house so it was just marking territory- or bedspreads  :? .
