I haven't posted in some time because Smudges is doing great since his diabetes diagnosis on 2/13/15. Without the help of the wonderful people on this site, I don't think we would have gotten to this point so quickly. Of course, it feels like a lifetime to me having no experience with this disease.
His numbers are pretty consistent with a few exceptions. His SS is up to date.
Today, I have two questions.
1) How do I proceed from here based on his SS? Do I maintain the current dose .5-.75 ML twice daily or do I change it?
2) I have a CKD kitty that has been struggling. She just returned home from the hospital where she was given IV fluids. It is suggested that I give her 200 ML daily at home. I am also syringe feeding her since she hasn't been eating on her own this week. Can anyone tell me some inexpensive options for buying the lactated ringer bags, Venoset IV lines and needles online? I've heard there are some much cheaper places to get these supplies than the vet.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
