I am getting the impression that people are suggesting to newly diagnosed cats that they skip an insulin shot for various reasons (not eating, changing insulins, going for surgery).
I just want to say this is a bad idea. Really bad. It's far riskier in my opinion than risking hypo.
[Edited to add: Especially with a cat who has lost appetite for some reason! Make sure that cat gets some insulin and if at all possible, syringe feed them a bit of food too. And water! But even if you can't get calorie one into them, give some insulin please. ]
