Was the 1.5 too aggressive? I can't remember if you can adjust dosage everytime or if you stick with a dose for a length of time?

1.5 could be a little too much. We usually suggest starting at one, holding for at least 3 cycles and if needed, increasing by .25. It is so much easier to increase by a little based on your numbers rather than trying to figure out how much or little to reduce.

His numbers are not too low, but it may take a couple cycles for his body to adapt to the insulin. I'd hold 1.5 for several cycles if you can monitor carefully. If you aren't around to monitor, I'd be inclined to be more cautious and back down to one unit.

It would be three full 12 hour cycles, so am/pm and am/pm and am/pm, so 6 doses.

I do see him dropping more with each cycle, which wouldn't be unexpected as his body processes the insulin. I'd be sure to get a nadir this cycle.

I wasn't home for a nadir. At +9 he was 172 but his PMPS was 439. A huge jump in 3 hours. Bounce? I debated w/ myself about sticking with the 1.5 but the high number scared me. I have my alarm set for 3 AM to get a nadir.
He goes from feeling spunky to feeling pensive. Darn his pancreas anyway! @-)

It could be a bounce. Such large drops would cause that. Just remember that this is the beginning of the sugar dance with this insulin so it could take some getting used to. You'll get there!
