Skipper was OTJ and fell off the wagon in January. I started Lantus again and she is not responding as expected. The cat who used to surf normal numbers on 0.5u is now up to 2.5u with a flat response. The numbers are not awful: they are in the 200s but the Lantus is not making a dent in them. At one point, I reduced the dose to check for rebound and didn't see signs of rebound.

Skip has had a complete vet check including blood and urine analyses. All results are normal. Teeth/mouth appear OK.

Bought a new supply of Lantus even though the current supply was far from its expiration date --> no difference in response.

I am wondering about switching to Levemir and would appreciate your feedback on that.

There are a number of people who have switched over. From what I recall, they seem happy with the switch. The biggest difference seems to be that the nadir is later with Lev. You also need to drop the initial dose by about 30% from your usual Lantus dose. You'll probably need to bring it back up but there seems to be a quick drop the first couple of days.
