Diabetic Cats in Need (DCIN)

Simon's last post, on his dental day a week ago, is here.

Simon is doing very well post dental. His Lantus dosage is now down to .25U, and heading downward as he had a 51 at +13 yesterday morning. His SS is here.

Alipuffs is doing an awesome job with Simon. Simon was on 3U N, eating dry food, drooling brown, and facing surrender when I met him in early December. Now he is on low-carb Fancy Feast, just a smidgen of Lantus, has just a few teeth left after his dental procedure, and loving life, his Mom, and his home every day. Well, there is that nasty ear pricking thing he's not too happy with, but maybe soon that won't have to be an everyday thing.
 
Wow sounds like Simon has hit the jackpot with this new momma keep it up big guy we are so proud of you. You too Alipuffs you are doing an awesome job Hugsssssss to you Kath and a pat on the back for job well done!!!!! :lol:

Simon and i want to thank everyone for all the support and donations. he is doing well. He has an appointment tomorrow to see the Doctor. It is a follow up but he has been shaking his head and chewing funny. Some blood in his food 7 days after surgery so the vet wants to see if he needs more antibiotics. he has been spending more time with me and shows improvment. he is down to less than .25 Us of lantus and staying in the normal range. i am so happy for us. i hope he does well at his appointment tomorrow. let you all know how he does. You have all been wonderful.
 
To all, Simon did well at his check up. No infection. he had some food in his stitches which she cleaned. He is recovering nicely. Thank you all so much. Barbara
 
Hey simon sounds like your ready for our trip now. Around Valentine's day you will see a limo pull up and hear scratching on your window. Then we are off to Catalina and the Canary islands first class. You can always e-mail your person from the plane. You can bring you person (beanie) but all humans go in coach class. This also includes my person-servant.

Now that you are doing purrrfectly, this trip will be the cat's meow. »^^«. Katrina
 
More Simon News

Simon's dental was two weeks ago, and he is clearly becoming more regulated. His SS is here.

Simon is on a 120 shoot/no shoot line, and is getting .25U minus one (or two) drops, which we are calling .15U (or .05U). On the 22nd, feeding brought his BG level down. He was fed before his shot, and it ended up putting him in a "no shoot" position. However, the next morning, at +37, he was only 187. In the past, such shed draining would have pushed him into the mid to high 300s.

Congrats to allipuffs on all her hard work. She is a GREAT FurMom.

(PS--we are really hoping for remission.)
