Simon has not had a BM for two days

Last BM was Thursday in the evening...not sure why. He seems fine although he is eating a little less than usual but not a whole lot less. He is playing, purring and he is eating his Pure Bites snacks after testing with his usual gusto, just slowing down a little on the FF. How long before I should worry?

May need an enema to loosen things up, so see the vet.

To prevent in the future, add some water to the canned food, and possibly add an osmotic and/or fiber to the diet.

Thanks BJ...he just went and it was HUGE! LOL...and stinky too. I am so relieved. Guess like us humans, he just went a day without going. Thankful for your response though...you guys are always amazing and helpful! xo

If it was really large, he could have a motility issue, possibly as a consequence of the diabetes. Do read over the Feline Constipation site, as it explains how a cat's GI tract works and what interventions have what effects.

Just finished reading about it. Since hubby is one that takes care of the litter box, he said it was not huge...a normal size for Simon, the same color and size as his usual BM since we got him 4 years ago. I guess I just never pay attention to his BM's..lol. I really thought it looked big in the box, but when hubby scooped, he showed it to me and it was not all that big when I saw it out of the box. I am just a worry wart I guess.

Also, hubby said he may have gone yesterday and he just forgot or thought he didn't. He is the one who said "I don't think Simon had a BM yesterday" and now he seems to remember that he actually did. Arghhhh! Thanks for all of your help. I did read the articles and learned more than I ever knew about cats and BM's. Gonna keep that bookmarked just in case!
