Simon's pre shot was a little high this morning, but we had severe thunder and lightning all night which he really hates so it could be stress. He is fine with regular thunder storms, but this is the kind that shake the house and the lightning was incredible. It made me jump at one point it was so huge and loud. I am betting that this contributed to his stress.

He was hiding at breakfast time and I had to go find him cause he NEVER hides except during nap times and during thunder storms or when small children come over the house  OK, hubby is home again today and going to try to test again. He finally got a reading yesterday so hopefully today goes smoothly for him. Sticking with 2.25 :YMPEACE: :YMPEACE:

PMPS = 315. Isn't that a huge jump from 6 hours? 215 points??? Seems like a pretty steep climb from approximate Nadir time? confused_cat (he seems to get his lowest readings between 4.5 and 5.5 hours)

I am guessing he is bouncing a little. You want a cycle that looks like a smile, Joyce. Amps, then gradually going down until 5-7 hours after the shot, then gradually going up to pmps - which is usually around the same numbr as amps.

That's just under a 70% drop which is a little bit steep but still ok.

And you PMPS is lower than you AMPS by a few points so that is good too. We like to see even pre shot numbers, it makes us think you are at a good dose.

You three make a great team. Hubby is on his way to becoming a pro tester.

So, after Friday, it will be a week on the 2.25 dose which has given him ok numbers but certainly not regulated yet. He is definitely doing better for sure though. What would be the next step? More time on this dose? Raise by .25? Lower it back down? Hoping to get a really great day this weekend to see how we should go. During the day, I am at work so can't do the number of tests necessary to see where he is going with this dose although I did get a chance to do the curves on the 18th and 19th.

Not sure where we go from here. Maybe we just wait and see with this dose for another week. Not taking him to the vet this week although the appointment is scheduled. I feel that paying 35 bucks to do a BG reading and then raising the dose due to elevated high test numbers do to a stressed out kitty just does not make sense (as some told me last week before I did it) so this week, not going. I will email the spreadsheet to my vet who is going to be upset when he finds out I did not go with 3 units (Most likely he will be upset but can't be sure) as he told me to give him. :o

I wouldn't even consider raising the dose yet. You got 2 green nadirs on the 20th, I think the last 3 cycles are including a little bounce and the rebound hormones will clear in 3 to 5 days or less, so when they do you won't be caught off guard by raising the dose too soon.

I suspect that when the bounce clears you will be looking at going down to 2 units.

Had another green tonight at +5 with a 71. Heading to bed! He is liking this dose so not going up or down just yet. Thanks for your input. It means a lot to me cause the collective knowledge of this community (and the caring and concern) is amazing! You all rock! :thumbup
